About the role

The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales through exceptional customer service and strategic management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a multiunit store operation
  • Model and provide best-in-class guest service
  • Support the shopping environment and promote GameStop’s guest benefits
  • Hire, train, and retain high-performing associates
  • Schedule and supervise staff to ensure optimal guest service
  • Ensure store compliance with policies and procedures
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions
  • Perform inventory counts and fulfill orders
  • Protect company assets and maintain store safety
  • Work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of retail management experience
  • At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, or management experience preferred
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred
  • Video game knowledge preferred

Qualifications

  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of retail management experience required
  • At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred
  • Associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred
  • Video game knowledge preferred
  • Outgoing personality with strong people skills
  • Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Meet leadership performance expectations
  • Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) computer system
  • Possess basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills
  • Complete required paperwork properly
  • Carry out instructions and convey instructions to others
  • Execute financial tasks in strict accordance with company policy
  • Able to work alone, stand, move, bend, stoop, crouch, stretch, reach, climb, lift up to 30 lbs., and utilize fine and gross motor skills
  • Work 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work extended hours/days as necessary, including nights, weekends, some holidays, and occasional overtime
  • Constructively manage pressure and adapt to stressful situations without impacting guest interactions; be creative and a problem solver
  • Able to work alone
  • Stand and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 12 hours per day
  • Bend, stoop, crouch, balance, stretch, reach with arms/hands, climb on ladders, lift merchandise weighing up to 30 lbs. from ground level to minimum height of 4 feet, and utilize other basic fine and gross motor skills
