Store Manager (Store 1942)

About the Role

The Store Manager is responsible for all facets of store operations, directly influencing the performance of everyone who interacts with guests. Using GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, the Circle of Life, the Store Manager develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences. This role supervises a retail staff, ensuring a clean, organized shopping environment, and growing guest loyalty and repeat business.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead in a multi-unit capacity, providing best-in-class guest service.
• Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, sales initiatives, and guest relationships.
• Process guest purchases/return transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, promoting GameStop’s unique guest benefits.
• Recruit, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates, ensuring completion of onboarding and training.
• Communicate with store associates and the District Manager to implement store initiatives.
• Set guest service expectations, train associates, and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers.
• Manage staffing levels, schedules, payroll, and time-off requests.
• Provide performance feedback and recognition to store associates.
• Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and proper merchandising per company guidelines.
• Fulfill and ship Omni-Channel orders daily.
• Perform inventory counts, stock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
• Protect company assets through inventory control, loss prevention, and bank deposit procedures.
• Meet sales, profit, and shrink goals, and complete administrative duties.
• Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transactions, complete closeout paperwork, and make bank deposits.
• Verify shipments, conduct merchandise counts, and process defectives/recalls.
• Maintain associate and guest safety, addressing hazardous situations and reporting injuries.
• Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date.
• Form professional partnerships with military personnel (for stores on military bases).
• Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
• 1 year of retail management experience required; 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.
