About the role

The Store Manager In Training, RX (SMIT RX) is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program spans 16 weeks and combines self-paced, collaborative training with virtual and hands-on learning experiences to develop your leadership skills. Your growth is supported by a team including your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead your team.
• Perform customer care duties to ensure high levels of service.
• Execute merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth.
• Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
• Actively engage in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion during the structured program.
• Lead the store as a management team member in alignment with CVS values and policies.
• Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose: "helping people on their path to better health."
• Be open to accepting promotion roles within your designated market.

Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance, availability of openings, and other factors.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or relevant work experience (e.g., retail management or CVS Supervisor role).
• Pharmacy Technician Licensure (state-level requirements vary).
• Willingness to accept a Store Manager promotion at any location within the designated market.
• Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $18.50 - $23.88 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, and geography.

Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Anticipated weekly hours: 40.
