About the role
The Store Manager In Training, RX (SMIT RX) is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program spans 16 weeks and combines self-paced, collaborative training with virtual and hands-on learning experiences to develop your leadership skills. Your growth is supported by a team including your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead your team.
- Perform customer care duties to ensure high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion during the structured program.
- Lead the store as a management team member in alignment with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose: "helping people on their path to better health."
- Be open to accepting promotion roles within your designated market.
Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance, availability of openings, and other factors.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or relevant work experience (e.g., retail management or CVS Supervisor role).
- Pharmacy Technician Licensure (state-level requirements vary).
- Willingness to accept a Store Manager promotion at any location within the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Pay
The typical pay range for this role is $18.50 - $23.88 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, and geography.
Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Anticipated weekly hours: 40.
