Store Manager

About the Role

Responsible for managing store operations, including staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to ensure effective execution of processes such as inventory management, merchandising, customer service, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with labor laws.
• Provide training, conduct performance reviews, and address performance or conduct issues.
• Make recommendations on employee pay and advancement.
• Communicate expectations, promote safety, and conduct regular meetings.
• Oversee store opening and closing, evaluate financial statements, monitor sales, profitability, and inventory levels.
• Manage merchandise staging, presentation, and inventory accuracy, including ordering and stock replenishment.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, safety, and security protocols.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy, security, and adherence to company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping environment.
• Complete required documentation and ensure compliance with operational policies.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, counseling, and managing staff, with knowledge of legal compliance.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 40-55 pounds, and perform manual tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred in some locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Management experience in retail is advantageous.

Work Environment

Involves frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and occasional outdoor exposure, within a moderate noise setting. Requires reliable transportation for store-related duties.
