About the role

As a Store Team Leader at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. You’ll provide exceptional, neighborly service, lead your store team by example, and create a fun, positive environment for both your team and customers. Your role will focus on maximizing sales, neighbor engagement, and productivity while maintaining a pet-centric and trustworthy reputation in your neighborhood.

Responsibilities

• Lead your store team by example, including engaging with neighbors and their pets.
• Analyze store sales results and develop plans to maximize sales, neighbor engagement, and productivity.
• Adhere to operational policies and procedures (animal care, safety, cleanliness, and security) to ensure exceptional service.
• Achieve strong store audit and neighbor engagement scores to promote the brand.
• Use broad business knowledge to drive store results, including sales (grooming and services where applicable), loyalty program membership, and neighbor engagement while operating within budget.
• Create weekly work schedules to maximize productivity and engagement.
• Promote team member engagement and morale by understanding individual motivation, recognizing performance, and helping team members achieve career goals.
• Maintain a fully staffed team and lead recruiting and onboarding for all store levels.
• Cultivate a learning culture by providing onboarding, development opportunities, coaching, and feedback.
• Connect with community organizations to partner on events and marketing opportunities.
• Operate store equipment, including forklifts, and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience leading retail teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; high school diploma/GED required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and have reliable transportation.
• Must pass a drug screening and be 18 years of age or older.
