Store Manager
Crafco, Inc. has an opening for a Store Manager at our equipment and supply center in Newtown, CT. Crafco Supply Centers are retail and manufacturing stores that make and sell pavement preservation materials and equipment for crack sealing, pothole patching, sealcoating, and more.
About the role
The Store Manager is responsible for building a dynamic team and creating a positive, customer-focused culture. This role oversees all personnel, ensures proper training, maintains the facility and equipment used for sales, rentals, and manufacturing operations, and ensures compliance with regulatory and safety requirements. The Store Manager manages day-to-day operations, supply, warehousing, and manufacturing of quality products and services while maintaining safety, tidiness, and strong relationships with employees, vendors, and customers.
Responsibilities
General Supervision Duties
- Build a dynamic team and a positive culture at the Supply Center
- Train and lead staff to provide exceptional customer experiences
- Promote positive employee relations with staff, customers, visitors, and vendors
- Supervise and review personnel, including performance evaluations and task assignments
- Manage inventory cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Oversee inventory with the corporate purchasing department for raw materials, parts, and equipment stock
- Participate in monthly safety and operations meetings
- Accurately enter work orders, inventory, and warranty information and maintain files
- Understand all production processes and fill in as needed
- Oversee timely outbound shipments and assist in preparing items for shipment
- Learn and perform general maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps and manufacturing equipment
- Implement additional duties as assigned by corporate management
Safety & Compliance Duties
- Represent Crafco during agency compliance visits and audits (OSHA, EPA, fire, insurance, etc.)
- Assure implementation of safety and regulatory compliance programs
- Set an example of personal behavior that follows all applicable regulations
- Identify and remove potential job hazards
- Assist with safety programs, monitor compliance, and attend corporate safety meetings
- Promote hazard prevention and encourage safe behavior
Equipment And Rental Duties
- Oversee the equipment service center to ensure rental equipment is serviced and prepared for customer use
- Assist the mechanic or service associate with repair estimates, work approvals, and service facilitation
- Maintain accurate records for work orders, warranty information, rental contracts, inspections, and customer insurance
- Coordinate delivery and pickup of equipment as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervision or management experience in a customer-facing environment
- Supervision experience in a related retail or customer-facing environment (preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional college/technical school education is desirable
- Ability to build and lead teams to accomplish goals
- Maintain and encourage professionalism and positive staff morale
- Ability to make sound business decisions
- Valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Point of Sale systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Work with a sense of urgency, multitask, and be solutions-oriented
- Coachability, willingness to learn, and adaptability to various roles
- Ability to interact professionally with various personalities and positions
- Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations, warehousing, shipping, purchasing, and safety/environmental regulations (a plus)
- Meet physical requirements, including standing for long periods, carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs, and working outdoors in potentially adverse weather conditions
