Store Manager

About the Role

Managers In Training will learn how to successfully manage the day-to-day responsibilities of running a Cumberland Farms convenience store location. This role supports the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience. During training, you will work alongside Training Managers and Supervising Managers, gaining insight into our company, retail team, vendors, and guests. After training, you will join our bench leadership team, filling in during absences until assigned to your own store.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Assist the Store Manager with building and developing a strong store team: training, scheduling, and coaching team members.
• Act as a leader by setting clear goals, holding self and others accountable, and communicating effectively.
• Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotate stock, and ensure 100% in-stock availability for guests.
• Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the store, including interior, exterior, coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms.
• Operate the cash register efficiently.
• In locations with hot food, oversee quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other food service guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.

Our stores are open to guests rain or shine, including weekends and holidays. Each team member contributes to delivering the best experience by participating in all parts of the job.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School or GED.
• Preferred Education: 1 year of retail or food experience; 1 year in retail, guest service, or restaurant leadership preferred.
• ServSafe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills

• Comfortable interacting with guests and team members.
• High energy and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to help others.
• Basic computer skills.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring up to 45 hours per week (40 regular hours + 5 hours overtime). Weekend and holiday hours are required. Stores may operate 24 hours, so shifts vary day and night.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours a day, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, and work in cooler temperatures.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
• Specialized attire required in food establishments (e.g., hats, visors, gloves provided).

Travel

5% travel required, including the ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and use of a personal vehicle.

Pay

In the spirit of pay transparency, we’re sharing the base salary range for this position. Final pay within this range will be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
