Store Clerk

Job Summary

Responsible for customer service and daily operations such as greeting guests, sorting donations, and operating the register while maintaining a clean and organized sales floor.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Straighten racks
• Keep sales floor in a neat and tidy fashion
• Assist customers
• Direct clients needing assistance to the office
• Assist customers bringing in donations
• Work in sorting room
• Check out customers on cash register

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Significant experience may be considered in lieu of
• Experience Retail and money handling experience preferred
• A friendly, positive attitude to interact with and support customer relation needs

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Moderate physical work, lifting up to 50 pounds
• Frequent use of arms and hands is required in moving items and sorting accordingly
• Specific vision needs include close vision, distance, and the ability to focus
• The work environment includes a retail and warehouse environment with a low to moderate noise level

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Director. In context related to this position’s duties, this individual will interact with a wide range of contacts both internal and external. In these contacts he/she will act as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
