Store Clerk
This position is located in Newhalem, WA, a remote area 125 miles from Seattle. Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities. The Skagit General Store serves City Light employees, local residents, and seasonal tourists, with peak traffic during summer months.
About the role
The Store Clerk will report to the Store Keeper and support daily operations at the Skagit General Store, located in the heart of the Skagit Hydroelectric Project.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and respond to inquiries about merchandise and the store area.
- Operate a cash register, total sales, and process customer payments.
- Restock shelves, coolers, freezers, and display cases; wrap and mark produce and meat.
- Receive merchandise, verify invoices for accuracy, and unload/store stock.
- Clean floors, display cases, shelves, and coolers; defrost freezers.
- Assist the Store Keeper with ordering, pricing merchandise, and annual inventory.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requires standing, walking, or bending for extended periods and lifting heavy objects. Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of retail store experience (or equivalent education/training/experience).
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with computerized cash registers or inventory management systems (desired).

Pay
The salary range for this position is $27.65 to $32.15 per hour.
