About the role
This leadership position supervises 2 or more full-time employees, including Assistant Manager(s), Lead Representative(s), and Customer Service Representative(s). The role focuses on ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and driving financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train enthusiastic employees.
- Develop, manage, and assign tasks to maintain store cleanliness, stock, and organization.
- Schedule employees within Company guidelines to meet business needs.
- Implement non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, and employee relations.
- Store Relationships:
- Build positive relationships with suppliers and resolve customer complaints professionally.
- Ensure regular and predictable onsite attendance.
- Promote a safe and positive public image within the community.
- Training and Development:
- Conduct timely performance appraisals (30-, 60-, 90-day check-ins, 12-month, and ongoing anniversary reviews) using Workday.
- Train employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, and safety procedures.
- Mentor employees on cash handling and risk reduction.
- Ensure employees complete all required training promptly.
- Communications:
- Develop systems to ensure timely communication with all employees.
- Hold periodic meetings with store employees and the District Manager.
- Organizing and Planning:
- Develop action plans to meet store objectives.
- Maintain store files, manuals, and required reports.
- Supervise stocking, display, and pricing of merchandise.
- Ensure compliance with employment-related signage and posters.
- Financial:
- Analyze daily sales and expenses to maximize profits.
- Budget and forecast P&L lines, manage merchandise margins.
- Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed.
- Notify District Manager of any discrepancies in sales, cash, inventory, or operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1–2 years of retail experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to supervise and train employees on equipment, tools, and materials as outlined in CSR, LSR, and SA job descriptions.
- Proficiency in using computers for reports, inventory, cash control, and employment forms.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Open availability for shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
- Ability to perform physical functions described in the job, including standing, walking, lifting, and operating a motor vehicle.
Qualifications
- Food Server certificate (e.g., ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
- Exposure to temperature extremes (walk-in cooler/freezer and outdoor work).
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds overhead and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
- Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift (eye-hand coordination required).
- Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
- Reach overhead, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb ladders.
- Stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
- Operate a cash register, computer keyboard, and motor vehicle.
- Work alone and be exposed to occasional noise.
Work Environment
- Work requires 50 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- 95% of work is indoors; occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, taking out garbage).
- Exposure to extreme cold (walk-in cooler/freezer) and occasional noise.
- Work with minimal direction and periodic supervision.
Pay
Hiring range: $19.00 to $32.00 per hour.
