About the role

This position is responsible for advanced administration and support of enterprise storage, focusing on NetApp storage environments (FAS, ONTAP), multi-vendor storage platforms, and cross-platform system administration. The consultant ensures high availability, performance optimization, and operational excellence while supporting ITIL-based service management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support NetApp FAS systems and NetApp ONTAP environments.
  • Provide advanced support for NAS and SAN architectures, including provisioning, zoning, and performance optimization.
  • Manage EMC storage platforms and interoperable storage environments.
  • Perform capacity planning, replication, backup integration, and disaster recovery setup.
  • Use NetApp Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM) for proactive monitoring, performance analysis, alerting, and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot complex storage issues and implement performance tuning improvements.
  • Configure and support authentication protocols including Kerberos and LDAP.
  • Integrate infrastructure systems with directory services and access control frameworks.
  • Support ITIL processes including Incident Management (timely diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure incidents) and Problem Management (root cause analysis and implementation of permanent fixes).
  • Utilize ServiceNow ITSM for ticket tracking, workflow automation, and reporting.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for incidents, changes, and system configurations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7 years of experience in infrastructure and storage.

Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • NetApp ONTAP and NetApp FAS
    • NetApp Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM) monitoring and analytics
    • SAN/NAS storage environments
    • Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat) administration
    • EMC storage systems
    • Microsoft PowerShell scripting
  • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of storage performance and monitoring tools (AIQUM).
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-platform environments.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in high-availability, mission-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ITSM platform and ITIL processes.
  • Knowledge of enterprise authentication protocols (Kerberos, LDAP).
  • Relevant certifications (preferred):
    • NetApp Certified Professional (NCDA/NCIE)
    • Microsoft Certified
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

Work Environment

Enterprise IT infrastructure environment (remote).

Success Metrics

  • Storage and system uptime and performance.
  • Reduction of recurring issues through effective problem management.
  • Efficient capacity and performance optimization using AIQUM insights.
