Stocker/Janitor

Position Summary

The Stocker/Janitorial Worker performs a combination of stocking and cleaning duties at a contract site. This role helps maintain an organized, clean, and safe environment while supporting daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and maintain product displays
• Move merchandise using equipment such as pallet jacks and other tools
• Clean and maintain shelves, floors, restrooms, and work areas
• Perform trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and general janitorial duties
• Operate equipment such as cardboard balers and pallet jacks
• Maintain cleanliness in specialized areas such as meat departments (as assigned)
• Follow OSHA safety standards and site-specific requirements
• Participate in trainings and team meetings
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• No formal education or prior experience required
• Ability to follow simple instructions and complete assigned tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid Alaska driver's license, vehicle and current auto insurance required for base access
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Ability to obtain site clearance (JBER access if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in stocking, retail, or janitorial work
• Familiarity with pallet jacks or similar equipment
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks

Work Environment

• Work in retail, warehouse, or commissary-type settings
• Occasional exposure to elevated areas
• Moderate noise levels
