Janitor/Stockperson

About the role

Provides custodial services and maintains stock for the Hualapai Market. Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, and public areas; collecting trash; receiving and stocking merchandise; and assisting with inventory and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean floors by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock all restroom facilities.
• Empty all trash cans, replace liners, and maintain clean receptacles inside and outside the Market.
• Answer visitor and tourist questions, provide directions, and share information about Hualapai tourism, history, and culture.
• Clean windows, doors, countertops, tables, chairs, fixtures, and equipment within the market and outside patio area.
• Maintain custodial closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Keep custodial equipment clean, safe, and operable; label, dilute, and use chemicals properly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the grounds surrounding the Market.
• Receive delivered products, verify quantities, unload merchandise, and mark items with identifying codes.
• Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring first in, first out (FIFO) to maintain product quality.
• Ensure all labels are clear and visible on shelves; replenish inventory throughout the Market.
• Replace damaged or missing products.
• Work with cashiers and management on inventory and orders; assist with merchandising.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to physically complete custodial duties such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, collecting trash, cleaning windows, and maintaining grounds.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and chemicals; ability to learn and follow proper safety and use policies.
• Ability to routinely walk, stand, bend, and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in a team environment, multitask, and maintain positive working relationships.
• Good client and customer service skills; ability to work independently and support group efforts.
• Ability to accept delivered products, verify quantities, unload merchandise, mark items with codes, and stock shelves.
• Ability to ensure back stock is brought out to maintain stock levels and follow FIFO procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience with or ability to learn janitorial and stocking duties.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Good oral communication skills; ability to read and understand detailed labels and directions.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Working Conditions

• Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors.
• Must be able to routinely walk, stand, bend, and carry items weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.
