Stock Clerk, Sr. - Registry

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Registry Sr. Stock Clerk at our Hyde Park location. This is a 100% onsite opportunity based in the greater Chicagoland area. The role is part of the Operating Room Supply Chain team.

About the role

As a Stock Clerk, Sr., you will perform inventories, data entry for supply requisitions, accept and verify supply deliveries, conduct expiring audits of supplies, manage stock room locations, and distribute, organize, and maintain supplies for use in the general peri-operative areas. You will act as a resource for information pertinent to all supplies kept in the peri-operative areas of The University of Chicago Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones in assigned areas to assist customers with a positive tone, demonstrating a customer-centric approach.
• Accept, uncrates/unpacks, receives, stores, re-shelves, and distributes daily shipments of stock from outside vendors, internal sources, or any procurement method to appropriate inventory locations.
• Perform overstock reviews and support supply chain materials management efforts to reduce inventory on hand.
• Perform data entry of supply orders into the automated materials management information system.
• Monitor and maintain established par-level for supplies in all sterile peri-operative areas of UCMC; report variances to the supervisor.
• Recommend product purchases based on reorder points, min/max levels, and par levels; recommend additional supply orders based on surgical activity or clinical staff requests.
• Support staff members in accessing supplies and inventory information.
• Replenishment process may include Kanban and/or Barcode systems.
• Audit and verify shipments for correct units received, matching shipments with packing lists and/or purchase orders; report discrepancies to the supply chain supervisor.
• Access the automated materials management information system to identify stocking locations for products received as needed.
• Perform automated receiving tasks under the supervision of the supply chain supervisor.
• Communicate daily with management personnel regarding issues or outages.
• Notify the supply chain supervisor of all discrepancies on items ordered and not received.
• Replenish out-of-stock conditions within scheduled routes.
• Attend daily MDI (Manage for Daily Improvement) huddles to discuss work area, metrics, and schedules. Attendance is mandatory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and ability to perform computer-related tasks, including data input in a menu-type materials management information system.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience with hospital/surgical supplies.
• Operating Room, SPD, and Supply Chain experience strongly preferred.
• Customer service experience.
• Prior experience working with a forklift.

Schedule

• Registry (0.1 FTE).
• Rotating shift.

Pay

The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position, based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and current market data. Compensation at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications, experience, and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
