About the role
This recruitment is being conducted to fill multiple temporary positions in the Registrar of Voters and to establish an eligible referral pool for future part-time or temporary opportunities.
Potential new hires must successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background investigation as a condition of employment. The County pays for the initial drug screen and physical.
Responsibilities
- Load cart with client case files and deliver to various locations; assist clerical employees in sorting client case files into boxes; load boxes on cart and deliver to a central point or to individual workers.
- Pick up and deliver a variety of materials, including heavy boxes, to and from the Courthouse and various departmental locations.
- Assist stock clerks in moving heavy file cabinets, desks, and other office furniture and equipment; assist in unloading vendor deliveries of files, desks, and other office equipment.
- Relieve stock clerks on mail runs to outlying offices in case of vacation or illness; load heavy boxes and supplies into delivery van.
- Perform miscellaneous unskilled or semi-skilled laboring tasks in the assembling, repair, or adjustment of departmental equipment, tools, or supplies.
- Perform routine janitorial duties as required.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
- Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations, safe methods of lifting heavy objects, and safe work practices relating to performance of manual tasks.
- Ability to:
- See numbers and letters accurately and in sequence.
- Sort case folders accurately.
- Keep material confidential.
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Work well with others.
- Lift heavy objects.
