About the role

The Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen at The Little Nell. This position is integral to the smooth operation of the restaurant, ensuring that all dishes, flatware, and silver are stored correctly and that the kitchen is kept clean and safe.

Responsibilities

• Clean and stack all dishes properly
• Store dishes and silver in designated locations
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
• Disassemble, clean, and re-assemble dishwasher
• Assist with storage of food deliveries
• Perform regular cleaning and organization tasks
• Prepare food items according to chef specifications
• Report any issues with food products, kitchen equipment, or work areas
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen
• ServSafe or similar food safety course certification
• Great knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Familiarity with company rules, regulations, and operational standards
• Basic industry terminology
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Ability to identify and solve straightforward issues
• Ability to follow oral or written directions in basic English
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
