About the role

Responsible for the maintenance and sanitation of all food service operations. Performs duties such as dishwashing, cleaning of all production equipment, floor cleaning and trash removal. This is a general utility position that may call for many additional tasks.

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is a federally recognized Indian Tribe located in Palm Springs, California, with 32,000 acres of reservation lands across Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, and the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains. The Tribe owns and operates two 18-hole championship golf courses, three casinos (Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, downtown Palm Springs), two world-class spas, and a fuel station.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general kitchen and back-of-house cleanliness; remove all garbage and boxes
• Perform pot washing and dishwashing
• Conduct floor sanitation
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment; return equipment to proper place
• Follow direction of lead Sous Chef at all times
• Transport food from kitchen to dining room
• Assist receiving in putting food products away
• Assist servers in replenishing clean dishes and silverware
• Assist servers in bussing tables in dining room
• Wear appropriate uniform: white shirt & checkered pants, apron, hair net, slip-resistant shoes, name and gaming badge
• Provide excellent guest service to both guests and internal clients
• Adhere to all Tribal Ordinances, Regulations, the ACCRS and SRC System of Internal Controls, and Standard Operating Procedures

Qualifications

• 5 years of related work preferred
• Possess a Riverside County Department of Environmental Health Food Handlers Certificate
• Chemical handling per MSDS
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Understands and complies with all company and departmental rules and regulations

Working conditions & physical demands

• Must be able to stand, move, and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1½ miles, climbing stairs, and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift
• May be subjected to a smoke-filled environment
• Noise level is usually moderate but escalates in the casino environment
• Must be able to grasp, bend, lift, and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis
• Sufficient dexterity of hand to use office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment, and multi-line telephone
