Steward - Buffet - Full Time

Responsibilities

• Maintain work areas (kitchens, cooking preparation, etc.), equipment (cook stoves, grills, stove hoods, deep fryers, etc.), and utensils in a clean and sanitary manner in accordance with OSHA and ServSafe standards
• Remove garbage and trash, and place refuse in designated pick up area
• Operate mechanical devices designed to assist such as scrubbers and dishwasher
• Adhere to proper cleanliness and sanitation standards as set forth by ServSafe
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in all kitchen areas and food storage areas by steam cleaning mats and other walking surfaces, washing walls, ceilings, and woodwork
• Stock serving stations with utensils
• Maintain safe working conditions and practices in the kitchen and eating area
• Be presentable when reporting to work, wearing appropriate uniform
• Maintain good personal hygiene
• Initiate a positive guest experience when working any guest contact position by providing a welcome and/or greeting, making eye contact, smiling, and bidding a warm farewell and good luck
• Perform any and all duties as assigned by your Supervisor or a member of management

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Able to communicate with our customers and fellow employees
• Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations as required

Physical demands

• Frequently required to walk and talk or hear
• Occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work environment

• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock
• Noise level is usually moderate
