Steward

Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops floors throughout the course of the day.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, hoods and cutting boards.
• Removes garbage and places it in designated containers.
• Hoses out garbage cans.
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand.
• Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks for the dishwashing machine.
• Assists with prep work such as washing and peeling vegetables.
• General up-keep of the kitchen, back dock and hallway.
• Dry or polish dishes before putting away in proper location.
• Organizes all equipment and puts it back in the proper location.
• Follows all sanitation, equipment handling, chemical usage, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year in the industry.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Individuals are organized and uphold the standards of Southall Farms.
• Conversational Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 pounds.
• Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• The ability to do precision work using hand tools or work aids to work, move, guide, or place objects or materials.
• Requires considerable dexterity of hands and fingers to do detailed work in a consistent manner.
• Some repetitive motion of hands and wrists is required.
