About the role

The Steward at Watermark Baton Rouge Hotel is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and drying all china, glassware, silverware, and other equipment returned to the dish hall station by server assistants or from other employees. This position may also ensure that all tables are kept clean and presentable with clean china, glassware, silverware, and linen.

Responsibilities

• Erect heavy work – lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
• Stand throughout the shift.
• Interact with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
• Operate and maintain the dish washing station.
• Organize and place items in trays for the washing machine.
• Operate the washing machine and dry items before returning them to their proper stock location.
• Perform additional duties such as cleaning vents, scrubbing trash cans, cleaning gum from underneath tables, detailed cleaning of chairs, cleaning of ice bins, replacing light bulbs, setting up sanitizers, cleaning floor sweepers, emptying trash, and taking trash to the dumpster.
