Sterilization Technician - Small Equipment 1st Shift 6:30am - 3:00pm

About the Role

Perform equipment sterilization functions in ABI manufacturing. Using cGMP techniques, clean, prepare, and sterilize small equipment in support of Media Prep, Bacterial, and Viral production. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices, accurately complete process-specific documents, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Train and apply cGMP to assigned work, and read and follow MSDS guidelines.

Schedule

1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a safe, clean, and organized manner
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators
• Process and clean portable tanks and associated equipment
• Sterilize portable tanks for use
• Learn and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Use various forms of communication (verbal, phone, email) professionally with customers, peers, and team leaders
• Respond to customer requests for supplies and information courteously and promptly
• Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality
• Complete documentation concisely, accurately, and in a timely manner

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• College degree (preferred)
• General understanding of microbiology and cGMP (preferred)

Skills

• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic Microsoft applications and computer skills
• Ability to recognize product quality issues based on company guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure
• Strong listening skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Positive attitude and respect for co-workers
• Working knowledge of the metric system

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely
• Manual dexterity using hands and fingers
• Constant standing for extended periods
• Reach with hands and arms
• Frequent need to sit, kneel, crouch, and climb
• Exposure to temperature variation, disagreeable odors, caustic/hazardous chemicals, and noise
