Living in Springfield, Oregon
- Responsible for the coordination, assembly and distribution of supplies, equipment and instruments for surgical cases.
- In-stocking inventory.
- Cleaning, decontaminating, disassembling and sterilizing instruments and supplies.
- Operating a variety of sterilization equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining department equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma. Preferred: or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) months’ experience as a Sterile Processing Technician required or three (3) month’s experience as a Veterinary Technician, Dental Technician, Surgical Support Aide, or other medical related technician role whose responsibilities included cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instrumentation. Preferred: Completion of a National Central Service Technician course and/or six months experience as a Sterile Process Technician.
Credentials Required: within 1 Year Natl Sterile Processing/Distribution Certification. Certification from IAHCSMM, as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST), or certification from CBSPD as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT) or other nationally recognized certifying body.
Skills: Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required) Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications. (Required)
Environmental Conditions: Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
