Sterile Processing Technician - Full Time - Days
About the role
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment, maintaining the sterile processing areas, and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and assembles medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment
- Maintains the sterile processing areas
- Receives and distributes surgical supplies and equipment
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered
- Previous Sterile Processing Experience Preferred
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician through CBSPD or IAHCSMM required in an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Preferred in a Hospital setting
- Certified through the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support required
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of infection control principles
- Good communication skills
