Position Summary An Endoscopy Technician shall assist with the operational and clinical aspects of the unit. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting up equipment for endoscopic procedures and cleaning up after procedures; cleaning endoscopes according to policy, understanding the multiple steps in manual pre-cleaning and the automatic endoscope reprocessor; care and maintenance of endoscopic equipment; maintaining stock in procedure rooms and decontamination area, and assisting with putting stock away when delivered. Assist with other clerical functions to support the endoscopy unit. This is a per diem position! Duties/Responsibilities Prepare and set up equipment, ensuring procedure rooms are maintained with necessary suppliesClean rooms according to policies and proceduresMaintain endoscopic equipment; decontamination, high level disinfection, sterilization, and reprocessing in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and standard of careMaintain all areas of the endoscopy unit with supplies, in a clean and orderly manner, restocking as necessaryMaintain patient confidentialityAttend required meetings and in-servicesPerform related work as requiredAssist with quality improvement and infection controlOther duties as assigned Education/Experience REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of Sterile Processing education from an accredited school or training programBLS certification (as required by individual ASC policy) Preferred Experience in a sterile processing departmentOutpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center experience
