About the role
Decontaminates and reprocesses all in-house prepared sterile supplies. Issues, tracks, decontaminates, maintains, and transports various types of patient care equipment to provide Quality Patient Care.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminates and reprocesses all in-house prepared sterile supplies.
- Issues, tracks, decontaminates, maintains, and transports various types of patient care equipment.
- Rotating 10 hour shifts and weekend call, with one holiday per year.
Qualifications
- CRCST required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Effective December 28, 2020 for newly hired Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Techs:
- Must pass a nationally accredited central service exam for CRCST and maintain certification.
- CSP technicians will have 18 months from date of hire to pass a nationally accredited central service exam.
- Must complete 10 hours of continuing education annually.
- Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
- CSP Techs employed as central service technicians prior to the effective date of Act 80 (12/28/2020) are exempt from certification requirements.
- Preferred Central Sterile Processing experience.
