About the role

Certified Sterile Processing Technician responsible for decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control policies.

Responsibilities

• Washes, disinfects, inspects, and assembles surgical instruments, ensuring proper sterilization and documentation.
• Handles instruments and supplies to maintain sterility and integrity.
• Maintains an organized decontamination and instrument assembly area.
• Utilizes technical skills to optimize processes, manage time, and adapt to new technology.
• Follows all safety, policy, and confidentiality protocols.
• Participates in department activities, professional growth, and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Registered Certified Central Services Technician or willingness to obtain within one year.
• Ability to work with children and adults, including lifting heavy instrument sets and working flexible hours.
• Customer service focus and physical capability to perform job requirements.
• Preferred: prior experience in central services and knowledge of decontamination/sterilization principles.
