Sterile Processing Technician

About the role

Welcome to San Antonio Med Center Surgery Center. We have 3 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Pain Management and Spine. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Responsibilities

Maintains and cares for all surgical instruments. Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or Equivalent - Minimum of 1-2 years of Sterile Processing experience - Completion of a Sterile Process Certification program is preferred - CBSPD or IACHSMM required - Experience with all types of sterilizers - Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and procedures - Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items - Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed
