Sterile Processing Technician

About the role

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 4 full-time Sterile Processing Technicians to provide services to Veteran Affairs Central California Health Care System in Fresno, CA. Sterile Processing Technicians must provide the range of services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and quality care to our Veteran population.

Responsibilities

• Clean and decontaminate reusable medical instruments and equipment following AAMI, AORN, FDA, and OSHA standards.
• Inspect items for biological residue, damage, wear, or malfunction.
• Identify and replace damaged instruments.
• Assemble, inspect, and package instruments.
• Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves, V‑Pro units, automated washers, and ultrasonic cleaners
• Maintain accurate records of decontamination, sterilization, equipment testing, and distribution activities
• Assist with transporting soiled and clean RME throughout the medical center.
• Support the training of new staff in sterile processing procedures and best practices

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years SPS experience.
• A current CPR/BLS certificate by the American Heart Association is required.
• Must possess one of the following active Sterile Processing certifications: Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), formerly IAHCSMM Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Pay

Pay Rate: $21.49 / hr + $5.09 H&W fringe

Schedule

Work Schedule: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm OR 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm OR 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
