Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician supports the surgical team at Insight Surgical Hospital, focusing on the proper care and maintenance of surgical instrumentation, decontamination processes, equipment usage, and sterilization processes. This role emphasizes infection control and is integral to demonstrating patient care second to none.

Duties

• Adheres to standard precautions and uses personal protective equipment
• Demonstrates knowledge of operating room equipment, instruments, procedures, and supplies
• Serves as a resource for sterilization, decontamination, case preparation, and surgical instrumentation
• Shows knowledge of aseptic technique
• Performs tasks under pressure, maintaining patience, tact, and endurance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Demonstrated eligibility to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Previous experience or related work experience preferred
• Certification preferred
• Able to work rotating shifts to meet department needs
• Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment
• Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers
• Detail-oriented, conscientious, and committed to precision in work results
• Able to perform to a high level of accuracy
• Able to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
