About the role
The Sterile Processing Tech I at CHI Health Immanuel plays a crucial role in ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation. Every day, you will expertly perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy, delivering instruments with resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism. You will continuously expand your knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for cleaning, inspecting, processing, assembling, and sterilization of all instruments and equipment following Policy/Procedure, Industry Standards, and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFU).
- P practices Universal Precautions and follows OSHA requirements at all times.
- Assists with daily/weekly testing and logging of all mechanical equipment, including but not limited to Mechanical Washers, Sonic, all Sterilizers.
- Maintains accurate and legible documentation.
- Assists with the routine maintenance of instrumentation by identifying items needing repair.
- Follows procedure for set assembly utilizing Instrument Checklists and/or Instrument Tracking where available.
Requirements
- A high school graduate or equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in Sterile Processing.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Central Service Technician, Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Supervisor, Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire.
- High School GED General Studies, upon hire.
- One to two years’ experience in Sterile Processing.
- Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, upon hire.
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Supervisor, upon hire.
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, upon hire.
- Cert Sterile Processing Distribution Tech, upon hire.

Pay
The posted compensation range of $15.67 - $22.14 /hour is a reasonable estimate based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit Health may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Schedule
Monday-Friday varying hours, Day shift, No remote work.
