Job Summary

As our Sterile Processing Professional, you will be a critical guardian of patient safety, ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation. Every day, you will expertly perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy, delivering instruments with resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism. You will continuously expand your knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Expertly perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy.
• Deliver instruments with resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism.
• Expand knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation.
• Possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a rigorous commitment to infection control.
• Provide quality customer service to all customers, including co-workers.
• Perform duties in a safe manner, to prevent injury to self, patients, visitors or other hospital personnel.
• Maintain supplies and sterile items for use throughout the hospital.
• Keep department clean, neat, and well organized.
• Perform cleaning and decontamination duties.
• Work quickly yet safely and thoroughly address all instrumentation taking into account any unique cleaning demands.
• Perform wrapping and packaging duties.
• Prioritize work; focus on consistent throughput; accountable for knowledge and expertise with respect to all instruments.
• Perform sterilization and all monitoring activities associated with it.
• Knowledgeable with respect to biological monitoring; organized and efficient.

Job Requirements

• Required High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or High School GED General Studies, upon hire.
• Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, within 12 - months or Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, within 12 - months or Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, within 12 - months or Certified Sterile Processing Dist Tech, within 12 - months.
