Sterile Processing Supervisor - Day Shift

Job Duties

  • Supervises the personnel and operations.
  • Actively participates in the development of and demonstrates thorough knowledge of the department and system goals and function.
  • Establishes internal inventory levels and maintains levels in accordance with set standards.
  • Maintains effective communication with appropriate nursing and medical center personnel, as relates to assigned duties.
  • Oversees preparation and maintenance of the instrument asset inventory.
  • Rounds in the Operating Room and throughout the department each shift to assess what is being utilized and anticipates needs.
  • Prioritizes instruments that are needed from preference cards, surgical schedule and emergent and trauma preparedness.
  • Affirms and understands the competencies of each member of staff and develops appropriate Performance Improvement program to identify and address weaknesses.
  • Maintains sterilization records and related data in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Performs ongoing evaluations of teams, the required services for the surgical suite, inpatient and outpatient units, and equipment and methods.
  • Counsels staff when necessary.

Requirements

  • Active CRCST, CER or CIS certification.
  • 4 years' related work experience.
  • 1 year supervisory experience.
  • CHL or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
  • Associate's Degree (Preferred).

The Sterile Processing Supervisor oversees the operations and personnel of Central Sterile Supply. This role ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission and Department of Health. The supervisor also supports the Medical Center’s goals in providing quality patient care and patient satisfaction by managing the care of instruments used in various departments.

Pay

$1500 Signing Bonus, if eligible.

Schedule

Full time Day 6:30am - 3pm.
