Job Summary and Qualifications

You will lead the daily operations of all functions of Sterile Processing and supervise Sterile Processing techs assigned to specific area(s) related to decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and storage, distribution of instruments, minor equipment cleaning and distribution throughout the facility.

You will assist manager/educator with training and orientation of staff, and update tools used in the assembly of instrument sets.

You will be responsible for operations of the department in the absence of the manager, and assist and participate in the department’s performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from High School or equivalent program
  • Graduate of accredited Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician program required
  • Prior Supervisory experience preferred
  • Sterile Processing Certification required (CBSPD or HSPA)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technician, but more is preferred
  • REQUIRED: Experience in processing surgical instruments and operation of sterilizers and instrument washers.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique.
