Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Supervisor monitors daily operations in the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring technicians adhere to policies and procedures. They conduct and coordinate training, perform in-services, and assist with hiring and scheduling.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 Years of Sterile Processing Experience
- Current CRCST or CSPDT Certification
- Previous Supervisory Experience or Proven Leadership Abilities
- Detailed Knowledge of Department Policies and Procedures
- Computer Skills (MS Office, Databases, Inventory Management Systems)
- Complex Machinery Operation (Washers, Ultrasonic Cleaners, Sterilizers)
- Medical Terminology Knowledge
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor daily operations and assume responsibility for assigned shift
- Coordinate staffing, equipment, instrument, and supply resources
- Create schedules and assign tasks to technicians
- Maintain productivity and quality of product through observation and hands-on approaches
- Conduct and coordinate job-specific and department-specific training
- Perform in-services and ensure technician competency
- Afford employees with department and hospital policies and procedures
- Assist educator with annual training requirements
- Maintain employee compliance with job duties and expectations
- Conduct performance evaluations and corrective actions
- Communicate expectations to employees
