Sterile Processing Specialist (Night Shift)
About the role
The health system is nestled in the heart of Covington on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and care for equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Operate sterile processing equipment.
- Pull instruments and supplies for case carts for scheduled surgical cases.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- One (1) year experience in Sterile Processing preferred, or successful completion of STHS apprenticeship.
- Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Sterile Processing Technician or certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within 12 months of hire.
- Physical demands: standing, sitting, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, working with moderate noise levels.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
WORK SHIFT: (5p-6:30a) Wed, Thurs, Fri with rotating weekends, holidays, on call.
