Sterile Compounding Technician (503A Pharmacy)

Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing through the pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT).
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of sterile compounding experience preferred; experience in a 503A compounding pharmacy is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of USP standards and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to accurately follow formulas, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounded mediations using aseptic technique in accordance with USP and pharmacy policies.
  • Perform calculations, measure ingredients, and compound preparations accurately.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all compounding activities, including batch records and logs.
  • Absorb environmental monitoring, cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of the cleanroom and equipment.
  • Perform routing quality assurance procedures and support compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards.
  • Assist pharmacists with workflow and other pharmacy operations as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing training and competency assessments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to wear PPE, including gowns, gloves, masks, and shoe covers for prolonged periods.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary to perform sterile compounding procedures.
