Position Summary

This role delivers high-impact sterile compounding execution supporting patient-critical therapies within Empower’s hyper-growth 503A/503B pharmacy environment. The technician owns precise preparation, documentation, and compliance for sterile products, ensuring safety, quality, and throughput. Leveraging AI-enabled systems to enhance accuracy, speed, and deviation detection, this position operates at the intersection of quality and efficiency. Success requires P80–P90 talent demonstrating disciplined execution, learning agility, and accountability under strict regulatory standards. This role directly influences product integrity, audit readiness, and scalable operations while continuously improving processes, maintaining compliance, and supporting production targets in a highly controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Sterile Operations
    • Aseptic Execution: Perform sterile compounding using aseptic techniques within ISO-classified cleanrooms, ensuring accuracy, contamination control, and adherence to SOPs while consistently meeting production targets and quality standards.
    • Batch Preparation: Prepare compounded sterile products following master formulas, verifying calculations, measurements, and documentation to ensure precision, traceability, and compliance with regulatory and internal quality requirements.
    • Equipment Handling: Operate, clean, and maintain compounding equipment and cleanroom environments, ensuring readiness, proper calibration, and compliance with environmental monitoring and safety protocols at all times.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Documentation Accuracy: Complete batch records, logs, and documentation with precision, ensuring real-time accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness aligned with USP standards and regulatory expectations.
    • Regulatory Adherence: Follow USP , , and internal SOPs rigorously, maintaining strict compliance in all compounding activities while proactively identifying and escalating deviations or risks.
    • Inspection Readiness: Maintain continuous audit readiness by adhering to GMP standards, supporting inspections, and ensuring all processes, documentation, and environments meet regulatory expectations without exception.
  • Operational Excellence & Collaboration
    • Workflow & Resource Optimization: Execute compounding tasks efficiently by optimizing workflows, managing inventory effectively, and leveraging AI-driven insights to improve throughput, reduce waste, and ensure consistency.
    • Quality & Deviation Management: Proactively identify, document, and escalate deviations, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions to maintain product integrity and prevent recurrence.
    • Technology & Team Enablement: Utilize AI-enabled systems and collaborate cross-functionally while continuously building knowledge to enhance accuracy, decision-making, adaptability, and overall team performance.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile compounding practices, and cleanroom behavior, with the ability to consistently meet strict regulatory and quality standards in controlled environments.
  • Proficiency in documentation systems, batch records, and GMP practices, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness in all compounding and operational activities.
  • Ability to leverage technology and AI tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making within sterile compounding workflows and production environments.
  • High attention to detail, accountability, and ability to operate effectively under pressure while maintaining precision, compliance, and consistent execution of standardized processes.

Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy technician certification preferred, with demonstrated ability to perform sterile compounding tasks in regulated or controlled environments.
  • 1+ years of experience in sterile compounding, cleanroom operations, or related pharmaceutical or healthcare production environments with strong adherence to SOPs and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with USP and standards, GMP environments, and regulatory expectations, with proven ability to maintain compliance and documentation accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies including AI-enabled systems, and consistently execute tasks with precision, accountability, and reliability in fast-paced environments.
  • Pharmacy Technician License required.
  • Sterile Compounding (IV) Certification required.
