Job Summary
The College of Nursing is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional to support academic testing, clinical simulation activities, and administrative operations at the College of Nursing. This position plays an essential role in maintaining the integrity of nursing examinations while ensuring the effective preparation, delivery, and operation of simulation-based learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assists with equipment maintenance, cleaning, supplies inventory, and learning resources.
- Collaborates with clinical partners to program and troubleshoot simulated clinical scenarios.
- Sets up testing rooms in accordance with exam protocols (e.g., spacing, materials, technology).
- Verifies student identification and checks-in students for exams.
- Clearly communicates exam rules and instructions to students.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of all exam materials.
- Collects and organizes completed exams and returns them according to protocol.
- Affords administrative support for the College of Nursing, as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a testing, educational, or administrative setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a quiet, controlled environment.
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
- Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) or online proctoring software is a plus.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Simulation Lab Assistant (60-70%): Assists with equipment maintenance, cleaning, supplies inventory, and learning resources. Collaborates with clinical partners to program and troubleshoot simulated clinical scenarios. Supports clinical training and education event content to advance learning goals and learner skills through simulation.
- Academic Support for the Undergraduate Program (20-30%): Sets up testing rooms in accordance with exam protocols (e.g., spacing, materials, technology). Verifies student identification and checks-in students for exams. Clearly communicates exam rules and instructions to students. Monitors students during exams to ensure compliance with testing policies. Addresses and reports any irregularities, disruptions, or suspected academic dishonesty. Maintains confidentiality and security of all exam materials. Collects and organizes completed exams and returns them according to protocol. Assists with accommodations for students with disabilities, as directed. Performs administrative tasks related to exam proctoring, as needed.
- Administrative Support (5-10%): Assists the College with other administrative support tasks as needed, including furniture moving on occasion.
Preferred Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
