Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and framing requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and install steel studs, track, and framing materials according to design specs.
  • Install blocking, backing, and bracing to support drywall and other finishes.
  • Construct interior and exterior wall systems, ceilings, bulkheads, and soffits.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all work complies with building codes, project specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other trades and team members to maintain job site coordination.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and materials.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, fall protection, and hazard awareness.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of proven experience as a steel stud framer in commercial construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of framing techniques, materials, and construction practices.
  • Proficient in the use of framing tools such as screw guns, chop saws, levels, and laser layout tools.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
  • Physical stamina to lift, carry, and work on ladders or scaffolding for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as required.

Working Conditions

  • This position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • This role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The work environment’s noise level is usually loud.

Physical Demands

  • This position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle.
  • The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises.
  • The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a minimum weight limit of 50lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily.
