About the role
This is a skilled trade role for someone who enjoys precision work, tools, and craftsmanship. Our Die Makers build and repair steel rule cutting dies used in rotary and flatbed die-cutting applications for packaging and converting customers.
Responsibilities
- Construct, assemble, and repair steel rule cutting dies and related tooling to customer/job specifications
- Cut, bend, and notch steel rule using manual and automated equipment (example: Serviform/EasyBender or similar)
- Insert, grind, and secure rule into die boards to meet tolerance, fit, and alignment requirements
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and job tickets
- Rubber dies and operate rubbering/blanking/stripping equipment as needed
- Make revisions and modifications to existing dies based on updated specifications
- Inspect materials and finished dies; correct nonconformances when found
- Perform preventative maintenance (cleaning, adjustments, minor repairs)
- Track work, time, and job updates in computer-based systems
- Maintain tool organization and a clean, safe workstation
- Communicate clearly with CAD, production, and leadership to clarify specs and solve problems
- Support training/mentoring of less experienced team members as assigned
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of die making, die cutting, or related manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to interpret blueprints/CAD drawings/specifications accurately
- Comfort using rule bending equipment and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with ERP/job tracking systems is a plus

Pay
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
