Steel Inventory and Inside Sales Coordinator

About the role

Nielsen's Arc Service is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Steel Inventory and Inside Sales Coordinator to support our growing steel sales and plasma cutting operations. This position will handle inside sales, customer quotes, steel inventory, purchasing, receiving, and material pricing. The employee will work directly with customers, vendors, accounting, and shop personnel to ensure accurate pricing, inventory, and order processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide inside sales and customer service for steel and plasma-cutting customers
• Answer customer calls, emails, walk-in inquiries, and quote requests
• Prepare estimates and quotes for steel sales and plasma table jobs
• Review customer drawings, dimensions, material specifications, and quantities
• Calculate material requirements and pricing
• Follow up on outstanding quotes and customer inquiries
• Process customer orders
• Maintain accurate steel inventory
• Track steel by type, grade, thickness, size, and quantity
• Receive incoming steel and verify purchase orders and packing slips
• Maintain applicable Mill Test Reports (MTRs) and material documentation
• Track material from receiving through sale or use
• Track usable steel remnants and drops
• Maintain steel inventory in QuickBooks
• Update steel costs and pricing as supplier prices change
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder needs
• Obtain pricing from steel suppliers
• Prepare purchase orders and coordinate steel purchases
• Coordinate incoming material deliveries
• Maintain vendor and purchasing records
• Perform and assist with physical inventory counts
• Work with Accounting to reconcile inventory
• Maintain quote, order, purchasing, and receiving records
• Coordinate with shop personnel regarding material availability and customer order status
• Assist management with steel inventory and sales reports

Requirements

• Previous experience in inside sales, inventory, purchasing, receiving, steel/metal products, estimating, or industrial customer service is preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good math and measurement skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to manage multiple orders and quotes
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel preferred
• Ability to read basic drawings, dimensions, and material specifications preferred
• Steel or industrial experience is a plus

Schedule

This is a full-time inside sales position located at Nielsen's Arc Service in Redmond, Utah. The employee will primarily work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed based on customer orders and business needs.
