Steel Fabrication Shop Foreman

About the Role

• Supervise the daily operations of a large Structural Steel Fabrication Facility. • Directly lead shop/production personnel to achieve Performance and Productivity goals, and schedule objectives. • Manage multiple projects concurrently on the shop floor. • Enforce all Safety Policies. • Enforce all Quality Control Standards per company Quality Management System. • Ensure that tools, equipment, machinery, cranes, etc. are calibrated and maintained to safe and proper working order. • Ensure that adequate stocks, supplies, welding consumables, machine tooling, etc. are available to maintain efficient operation of the facility. • Promote continuous improvement throughout the shop. Includes means and methods, and personnel training and development. • Provide guidance, support, and motivation to ensure a positive and productive work environment. • Evaluate shop personnel and hold accountable, as well as recognize stand out performance. • Participate in weekly and daily planning meetings as part of the project management team to track and report progress on production objectives.

Requirements

- Must fully comprehend Shop and Working drawings. - Expert ability to Layout, Fabricate, and Weld to AWS D1.1 Standards. CWI is a plus. - Computer literacy is required, familiarity with StruMIS management software is a plus. - 10 years experience in Structural Steel Fabrication. - 5 years experience in leadership and/or management role. - Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for the duration of your shift. - Ability to quickly adapt to changes in priority and scheduling. - Excellent organizational skills. - Strong communication skills. - OSHA 10 is required, OSHA 510 a plus. - Speak English, ability to speak and interpret Spanish is a plus.
