About the role
Trivent Safety Consulting is looking for an experienced Safety Manager to provide hands-on safety leadership across steel erection projects in Austin and Dallas, TX. This is not a desk‑only position; the role requires presence on job sites, direct work with field crews, conducting training, maintaining safety documentation, and helping ensure employees go home safely each day.
Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day safety oversight on active steel erection projects
- Conduct employee safety training, toolbox talks, and jobsite orientations
- Train field employees on required safety procedures and paperwork
- Review and maintain jobsite safety documentation
- Perform jobsite inspections and identify unsafe conditions
- Work directly with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field employees
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Support compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policies
- Travel to projects throughout the Texas area from time to time
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in the steel erection industry
- OSHA 30 certification
- OSHA 510 certification
- CHST, CSSS, CSST – preferred
- Strong understanding of steel erection hazards, fall protection, crane operations, rigging, and construction safety
- Ability to communicate effectively with field employees and management
- Strong organizational and safety‑documentation skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites
