Job Responsibilities

  • Oversight of job crew includes training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and to quality
  • Planning: Developing work schedules, assigning tasks, and coordinating daily activities
  • Managing resources: Ensuring that the project has the necessary staff, equipment, and material before the job begins
  • Safety: Must spearhead safety for the rest of the crew. Ensuring that safety rules are followed, and training crew members on how to use equipment safely
  • Quality control: Inspecting work in progress and completed jobs and addressing quality issues.
  • Communication: Reporting project status to supervisors and customers when necessary, and effective communication with crew members.
  • Gives progress billing reports to owners monthly or upon request
  • Documentation: Completing required documentation and recording daily work
  • Performance: Reviewing employee performance and reporting to management both positive and negative reports
  • Coordinating daily tasks according to schedule, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and available personnel
  • Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
  • Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials
  • Weld, operate machinery, and hang steel upon job demands.

Qualifications/ Skills

  • Must prioritize safety and be strict with crew on enforcement, and willing to write up team members who don’t comply
  • Must have a good attitude and work well with owners, peers, customers, and other trades on the job site
  • Understand written contract with general contractor and enforce accordingly
  • Strong Verbal communication skills
  • High level understanding of construction projects
  • Mentoring and coaching

  • Conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trade

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • Three years’ minimum experience in structural steel construction
  • One to three years of welding experience
  • Heavy Equipment certifications are preferred but not required
  • Welding certs are preferred
  • Current WA state driver’s license & Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug & background test

Work Hours & Benefits

  • This position offers an hourly rate of $25-$30
  • Work hours will be Mon-Thurs 6 am-4pm. OT on Fridays is often required upon demand

Compensation
