Stationary Engineer Journeyperson - Spring Hill Assembly (Evergreen)
About the role
The Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator Journeyperson operates and maintains industrial powerhouse equipment under minimal supervision. This includes gas-fired boilers, large centrifugal and reciprocating air compressors, heat exchangers, water softeners, chilled water systems, cooling towers, wastewater systems, high-quality water systems, and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures
- Maintain and repair assigned equipment
- Analyze and troubleshoot malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing and correcting problems quickly to avoid production delays
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all assigned equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Use basic computer skills
Requirements
- U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as a Stationary Engineer, or six (6) years of documented experience as a Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator (documentation required, e.g., US DD214, license)
- Must satisfactorily complete General Motors hiring process requirements, including comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours (day, afternoon, or night) as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays on short notice
- Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis; a company vehicle will be provided only after passing the Motor Vehicle Report review

Pay
Compensation ranges from $37.79 to $44.99 per hour, depending on certification, credentials, and interview scoring. This role may be filled at the Journeyperson In Training rate ($37.79–$44.09) or the full Journeyperson rate ($44.99).
