About the Role

Constellation New Energy is seeking a Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain eight Cleaver Brooks 400 & 500 HP boilers and associated equipment at our customer's facility in Frederick, Maryland. This role serves as the sole Constellation representative onsite, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor safe working conditions; identify, correct, and report unsafe areas while enforcing safety compliance.
• Operate assigned plants in compliance with Company operating and safety policies/procedures.
• Maintain customer relationships and act as the primary Constellation representative onsite.
• Monitor plant operations through control systems and technologies.
• Respond to emergency situations, including on-call availability, odd hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and administer project requirements.
• Maintain safe, efficient, and continuous commodity supply to meet system demands.
• Execute water management procedures to ensure proper plant chemistry and water quality.
• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance, minor repairs, and operate Cleaver-Brooks Package Boilers.
• Create, maintain, and follow up on work orders for equipment repairs, documenting all activities.
• Implement Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, including energy source identification and documentation.
• Complete required training to comply with company safety and operating policies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fire-tube boiler operations, combustion processes, feedwater systems, and natural gas combustion hazards.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED.
• 5 years of boiler operating experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Grade 1 Maryland Stationary Engineer license or ability to obtain one in a specified time frame.
• Federal Security Clearance (HSPD-12 minimum) or eligibility to obtain one.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude, including working with switching up to 480 volts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong problem-solving skills, including data collection, root cause analysis, and recommendations.
• Customer service experience with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds, work in confined spaces, and at various heights.
• Availability to respond to emergency situations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) experience.
• 5 years of experience operating Cleaver Brooks Package Boilers.
• Experience in production facilities with a focus on boiler water chemistry and associated systems.
• Knowledge of CB Hawk, Schneider Electric, or similar operating systems.
• Experience with centrifugal chillers and HVAC-related equipment.

Pay

Expected salary range of $38.46 to $48.95 per hour, based on experience.
