About the role
The Stationary Engineer is responsible for operation of plant equipment including: boilers, compressors, chillers, and more. The Stationary Engineer manages the plant equipment, conducting preventative maintenance and project work as needed to ensure the operation of the plant and safety of employees.
Responsibilities
- Assure implementation of an equipment management plan for boilers, compressors, chillers, and other assigned equipment
- Maintain boilers and related equipment to assure operation according to manufacturer specification
- Observe pressure/temperature gauges and panel view screens to verify specified operation automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators, and burners
- Make minor repairs as needed, reporting any major problems to supervisor
- Test and treat water boiler feed water using specified chemicals; maintain a log of water test results
- Enter work order information into MMS system (SAP)
- Follow safety regulations and maintain compliances of GMPs and safety standards; ensure adherence with applicable regulations and food safety requirements
- Understand and demonstrate the Company’s core values and operation principles
Requirements
- Knowledge of applicable safety requirements
- Ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write in English
- Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force on occasion
- Ability to work in standard manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of technical education
- City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License required
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating large steam, chiller, refrigeration plant or similar setting
Skills
- Knowledge of applicable safety requirements
- Ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write in English

Pay
$45.50 per hour plus a .25 cent per hour shift differential
