Stationary Engineer - 3rd Shift
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance duties such as overhauling or replacing defective valves, gaskets, or bearings.
- Lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and remove soot and corrosion from boilers.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, HVAC, and plumbing equipment.
- Read gauges, meters, and charts to track boiler operations.
- Maintain and repair equipment including cooling towers, chillers, pumps, air compressors, boilers, heat exchangers, HVAC systems, and split and package units.
- Use electrical and electronic test equipment to service, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
- Conduct chemical analysis on cooling water, boiler water, and adjust chemical feeds to maintain proper levels of disinfection and corrosion prevention.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
- A minimum of a Class IV Stationary Engineer’s License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Knowledge of standard practices in HVAC, boiler, chiller, and cooling tower trades.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Basic record-keeping techniques.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with CMMS software preferred.
About the Role
The Stationary Engineer performs scheduled maintenance, safety inspections, and repairs to various types of equipment. They follow safe practices and comply with company and regulatory standards. The Operations Engineer operates or assists in operating all heating and ventilating equipment, engines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, air conditioning units, fans, and siphons on the assigned site. Flexibility and willingness to complete all assigned tasks are required. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Pay is based on experience and licensing, with a 15% shift differential available. ABM offers licensing to experienced boiler, chiller, and cooling tower technicians. Skills
