State Police Motor Carrier Officer: Statewide, Michigan

Michigan State Police (MSP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) is hiring entry-level Motor Carrier Officers (MCOs) statewide. No prior experience or degree is required. Pay and benefits begin during training.

Motor Carrier Officers specialize in commercial vehicles and perform self-directed patrols that encourage proactive, independent decision-making. Work sites set individual schedules, with a priority on weekdays for excellent work/life balance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 21 years of age by academy graduation
• No felony convictions
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to pass pre-employment fitness and written tests
• Successful completion of interview, background investigation, physical, psychological, and drug screening

Pay

Starting pay of $26.82 per hour, with annual increases reaching $40.22 per hour at 6 years ($75,000–$100,000 annually).
