Responsibilities

  • Specialize in commercial vehicles
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations
  • Conduct crash investigations

  • Protect infrastructure

Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED Certificate
  • Pass the NTN Entry Level Law Enforcement exam
  • Pass a Baseline Fitness Test
  • Pass the MCOLES Pre-Enrollment Physical Fitness test
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Reside in Michigan before graduating from the Academy
  • Be at least 21 years old by recruit school graduation
  • Have a valid Michigan driver's license by recruit school graduation
  • Have a satisfactory driving record

  • Willingness to submit to a thorough background investigation
  • Proactive and independent decision-making skills
  • Self-directed patrol duties
